Independent oil analysis for North Carolina plants, from Charlotte to the Triangle

When a gearbox or hydraulic system is heading for trouble, the oil usually knows first. Tiny metal particles, water, or worn-out additives show up in a sample weeks or even months before anyone hears a strange noise. That is what oil analysis is for: spotting a problem while it is still a small, planned repair.

Newton Industrial Solutions helps North Carolina plants set up and run oil analysis programs. We are based in Greenville, SC, about 90 minutes from Charlotte. We work out what to sample and how often, take care of the lab side, and explain the results in plain English so your team knows what to do next.

We are ICML certified, and we do not sell lubricants or equipment. So when we tell you an oil change can wait, or that it can’t, we have nothing to gain either way. You can also get the same service through our South Carolina and Georgia oil analysis pages.

What you get

A good program does not have to be complicated. This is what we set up for you:

  • A list of the machines worth watching, such as gearboxes, hydraulic systems, compressors and circulating systems
  • A sampling plan that says where to take each sample, how to take it, and how often
  • Sample bottles and labels, ready for your team to use
  • Shipping and tracking of every sample to an independent lab
  • Reports that mark each result as normal, keep watching, resample, or act now
  • Trend tracking, so a slow rise in wear metals or water does not slip by unnoticed
  • Training for your technicians if you would like them to take the samples themselves (see our oil analysis training)

How it works

  1. We visit. We walk the plant with you, list the equipment, and agree where each sample will be taken.
  2. Samples are taken. Your trained technicians do it, or we do it on scheduled visits. Either way we use clean methods, so the sample shows what is really inside the machine.
  3. The lab tests them. An independent lab checks each sample for wear metals, oil thickness (viscosity), contamination, particles and water.
  4. You get a clear answer. We read the results, flag anything that needs attention, and track changes over time.

Where we work in North Carolina

We work with plants across the state:

Charlotte area: Charlotte, Gastonia, Concord, Kannapolis, Hickory and Statesville

The Triad: Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem and Burlington

The Triangle: Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill

Western NC: Asheville and Hendersonville

By arrangement: Fayetteville, Wilmington and Rocky Mount

Asheville is about an hour from our base and Charlotte about 90 minutes. The Triad and the Triangle are around three hours or more, depending on the route, so we plan those as scheduled trips and bundle services together to keep your travel costs down.

Who this helps

Oil analysis pays off anywhere oil-lubricated equipment keeps production running. In North Carolina that often means:

  • Automotive suppliers and metal fabricators, with gearboxes, hydraulic presses and compressors
  • Textile and furniture plants, with spindles, gearboxes and hydraulics
  • Food and beverage plants, where the choice of lubricant matters (see our food and beverage page)
  • Pharmaceutical and biotech sites, where utility equipment and record-keeping matter (see our pharmaceutical page)
  • Chemical, plastics and packaging plants, with pumps, extruders and circulating systems

Do more in one visit

Many plants find it easier to get several things done on the same trip. We can set up oil analysis alongside a steam trap survey or an air leak survey, which saves on travel and keeps disruption low. For the full details of the program, see our main oil analysis page.

Questions we often hear

Do you offer oil analysis in North Carolina?

Yes. We work with manufacturing plants across North Carolina, from the Charlotte area to the Triad, the Triangle and the mountains. Most visits can be scheduled within two to three weeks of your first call.

How far away are you?

Our base in Greenville, SC is about an hour from Asheville and roughly 90 minutes from Charlotte. Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham are about three hours or more, so those visits are planned ahead, often alongside another service.

Do you test the oil yourselves?

No. Samples go to an independent lab. We handle the shipping, read the results, and tell you in plain language what they mean and what to do about them.

How often should we sample?

It depends on how critical the machine is and how much oil it holds. For critical gearboxes and hydraulic systems, monthly to quarterly is common. Less important equipment can be sampled less often. We set the schedule machine by machine when we set up your program.

Can you train our technicians?

Yes. We offer onsite and private oil analysis training, so your team can take good samples and read lab reports with confidence.

Want to see what this would look like in your plant?

Tell us where you are located and which equipment matters most, and we will take it from there.
